We took several hundred unused square feet and created a new cafe space to allow us to have more room in our sanctuary. The transformation process was extremely difficult and time consuming due to making repairs to an old building. During this time period we all were looking forward to seeing the finished produce. Here are a some thoughts about the parallel of our physical transformation and our own spiritual transformation.

1. Transformation requires commitment.
2. Once you start the transformation anything less than completion is view as failure.
3. Learn from the struggles of the journey.
4. Thank the people who help you along the way.
5. enjoying the benefits of the transformation is priceless.

I know that there are many other parallels, but these are the ones that stuck out to me. You can't become all that God desires for you to be without being transformed. So the biggest lesson is for all of us to realize that in the end what God desires for us to be transformed into is greater than what we could have imagined.

Revolution of Honor

Yesterday was full of surprises at Abundant Life. We had our first ever "unplugged" service as well as the first Pastor's appreciation. Unplugged was our 5th Sunday service and we stripped the worship experience down to more of a coffee house acoustic music set.

I am honored to be able to serve as Lead Pastor of such an amazing church. Rick Womack was the guest speaker of the day, and he taught on creating a revolution of honor. Honor is defined as high respect or esteem. We all have the ability to give honor, however most of the time for what ever reason we don't.

Below are some points from Rick's message.

Honor those Before Us - those that have blazed the trail; our historical leaders

Honor those Below Us - there is structure & hierarchy - we should honor those that serve or work for us

Honor those Beside Us - those people that are our peers, our co-laborers

Honor those Behind Us - there's a generation that's looking to us as leaders - honor them with your integrity and humility

Honor those Beyond Us - our leaders, the one's God has set in place over us at this time
<div id="TixyyLink" style="border: medium none ; overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; text-align: left;
